There are cameras that always lag behind for one or more frames even though they get the correct timecode fed in. The reason is an internal processing delay.
You can find out by filming our LockitSlate and compare the Timecode on the display with the Timecode of the footage.
If you know about that issue, do your editor a favor and adjust the offset for those cameras.
Here is how it works:
- Enter the display menu by pressing green and red at once.
- Navigate to “Offset” and adjust it.
- If your camera for example is always 1 Frames late – you have to set it to “+1 Frames here.”
The OLED display will still indicate the “real” timecode of the ACN network, showing the individual offset of the timecode output in the subline.
It’s important to know, that the Lockit itself is still running in perfect sync with the other Lockit devices. Just the Timecode and Sync output through cable has this offset.
If you now film the LockitSlate again, the Timecode of the display and the footage will match.
