With Final Cut Camera 2.0 and iOS 26, Apple introduced the possibility to easily send timecode from a Lockit to your iPhone via USB.
All you need is a Lockit or NanoLockit, a compatible iPhone and a USB-C cable.
- Set the frame rate on your iPhone to the project rate you would like to use.
- Then adjust the project rate on your Lockits accordingly.
- Connect your Lockit to the iPhone with the USB cable.
- Final Cut Camera will automatically detect the external timecode and display it in the top left corner of the app.
In case you would also like to make use of the new Genlock capability of the iPhone 17 Pro, you need to mount the iPhone to the Blackmagic Camera Pro Dock.
Enable the sync output in your Lockit and connect it to the ProDock's dedicated LTC and Genlock BNC ports to provide timecode and sync to the iPhone.
