Download Markers
- Connect your NanoLockit or other Lockit device to a Mac or PC via USB cable
- Open the LockitToolbox Software
- Enter your Lockit device from the device list
- Click „Download Markers“ in the bottom right corner and save the .markers file locally
Good to know: Download after every shooting day!
It is important to download the .markers file after every shooting day. Otherwise the timestamps might overlap and the matching process goes wrong. We recommend to rename the .markers file to a telling name like: ProjectX_Day1.markers
Choose the Reference Point
- Open Adobe Premiere Pro
- Navigation to Window –> Extensions –> Lockit Panel
- Choose between a clapper clip (Creative Mode) or Timecode (Sync Mode) as reference to match the markers with the clips.
Clapper Clip as Reference
- Search the footage for the „Clapper Clip“ (triple-press green button)
- Move the timeline cursor to the exact event
- Click „Set Clapper Clip“ in the panel
- Select all clips of the respective camera of this shooting day in the footage
- Click „Import Markers“ in the panel
- A window will open asking you to select a file on your computer. Select the .markers file you have previously downloaded
- Then you’ll see the magic happen: the markers get automatically matched to the clips
- Repeat this step camera by camera
Timecode as Reference
- Select all clips of this shooting day in the footage (of all cameras)
- Click „Import Markers“ in the panel
- A window will open asking you to select a file on your computer. Select the .markers file you have previously downloaded
- Then you’ll see the magic happen: the markers get automatically matched to the clips
Good to know: Multi-Cam Shoots
When using Creative Mode with multiple cameras, markers have to be imported in a separate step for each camera. If you can use Timecode as a reference (Sync Mode) you can select all clips of all synced cameras at once.
