Press the „Green“ or „Red“ Button
That’s it. Basically it’s about pressing the green button for a good take (or several good parts within the take, since you’ll see all markers in the timeline) or the red button for a bad take.
Shooting in Creative Mode (Logger only)
- Power up the device by pressing the power button for a few seconds
- Create a so-called “Clapper Clip”: start all cameras and film yourself pressing the green button 3 times in quick succession.
- If multiple cameras are used, they must all be filming your hand performing the triple-click simultaneously.
- Start logging
- Please kindly ask your camera operator to NOT shoot in Rec Run (TC settings), but use Free Run mode instead. Otherwise the logs can’t be matched in Premiere Pro.
Shooting in Sync Mode (with multiple Lockit on set)
- Power up the device by pressing the power button for a few seconds
- Press and hold the green button on one of the Lockits (make sure they are in the same ACN channel) for a few seconds
- All Lockits should blink green and in sync now
- Start logging
- Learn how to connect Lockits to cameras and sound recorder here: https://nanolockit.com/en/tutorials/
Good to know: Logging Algorithm
Often it will be the case that you press „Green“ or „Red“ when the camera isn’t recording anymore.
Don’t worry: the algorithm in our Premiere Pro panel ensures that these markers are assigned to the last clip. Until the next clip starts.
Good to know: Clapper Clip
Sometimes you might forget to shoot the clapper clip at the beginning of the day.
Don’t worry: you can also shoot it in the middle of the day or at the end. The algorithm will still work. Just make sure all relevant cameras are rolling and the NanoLockit Logger is in frame while you triple-press the button.
