- Loosen the set screw inside the 3/8" tip with a Torx T10 screw driver.
- Unscrew the 3/8" tip from the boom segment with an open-end wrench (size 18mm). Do not use pliers as they may scratch the aluminum tip!
- Remove the aluminum stud.
- Remove the rubber foot from the bottom end.
- Now push the mini XLR/TA3 connector through the opening in the top segment and lead the cable through the boompole.
- Squeeze the rubber grommet on the cable into the slit on the top end to hold it in place.
- Place the aluminum stud on top of the grommet before screwing the 3/8" tip back on the boom segment.
- Gently tighten the tip piece with the 18mm wrench.
- Fasten the T10 Torx screw to lock everything in place.
- Connect the TA3 connector to the XLR foot adapter and install it on the bottom segment by fastening the knurled nut.
- Finally mount the original rubber foot on the adapter and you are done. :-)
Pro tip: If you need to remove the cable again, it is helpful to install a piece of tape on the locking mechanism of the TA3 connector because otherwise it may get stuck on the inside of the pole. This also can already be helpful when installing the cable.
