There is quite a bit of confusion when it comes to connecting balanced or unbalanced mics or other audio sources with XLR connector to wireless transmitters with lockable 3 pin Lemo as input.
This is because different manufacturers use the connectors in different ways and some allow to configure it for either unbalanced or balanced inputs with or without phantom power.
Currently, two configurations exist for balanced inputs: While Zaxcom sticks to a more standard wiring equivalent to the XLR pin configuration and ground on pin 1, Sound Devices chose a proprietary configuration with ground on pin 3. This means that you can't swap balanced input cables between those transmitters.
