In this guide we’ll show how to make a Sony Burano accept external Timecode.
Turn on all your Lockit devices, choose one of them to be the Master Clock – then press-and-hold the green button to broadcast timecode and frame rate through ACN and you are set.
Make sure all cameras and Lockits run on the same frame rate.
- On the Lockit, press green and red simultaneously to enter menu, then and navigate to “Project Rate”
- On the camera:
- Tap the FPS button in the home screen
- Select the correct project rate
How to make the camera accept external Timecode:
- Enter advanced Menu by holding the Menu button
- Go to “TC/Media”
- Go to “Timecode”
- As “Mode” select “Preset”
- As “Run” select “Free run”
Move the switch next to the camera’s timecode interface to "In" – as you want to feed in timecode.
For this camera you need an LTC-OUT timceode cable.

Connect it to the BNC Timecode Connector
Now the camera accepts the external Timecode source – indicated by the “Ext Link” sign next to the Timecode.
How to set up Genlock:
- In the Lockit Menu set to Sync output to a matching format. Keep in mind that the Burano expects an interlaced Trilevel signal in most cases even when you are shooting with a progressive rate. 1080PsF will do the trick for single rates.
- Make sure the TC/Genlock In/Out switch on the camera is set to IN. No additional menu settings are required.
For Genlock sync you need an extra cable - the SYNC-OUT
