As long as your camera is set (or can be set) to output timecode while it is recording (commonly referred to as Record Run timecode) you can use this to remote control an audio recorder to automatically start and stop recordings along with the camera. Of course your audio recorder also has to support that feature.
Transmitting the RecRun timecode can easily be done with two NanoLockits:
- Simply start up both Nanos in TRX mode by holding the red button and tapping the power button. Both should slowly blink red if done correctly.
- Now hook one Nano to your camera and one to your audio recorder. Not the you will need a cable that directs timecode from the camera to the NanoLockit this time!
- The Nano on the camera will automatically detect any running or standing timecode and transmit it to all other Lockits that are running in TRX mode.
- It is best to use Pre-Roll on your Audio-Recorder to compensate for the delay caused by transmitting the record and stop information from the camera to the audio recorder.
